Description
A view of the Wings near the Tower of the Americas in San Antonio, Texas. The Wings are a gift from the government of Mexico City and Mexican artist Jorge Marín in honor of San Antonio’s Tricentennial, Marín’s Alas de México, or Wings of Mexico, which are permanently installed at Hemisfair near the Tower of the Americas.
The bronze sculpture, a set of standalone wings 11 feet tall and 17 feet wide, is designed by Marín to be the perfect size to inspire interaction with the public, since when humans stand in front of the sculpture, they appear to have wings themselves. With permanent installations in seven other locations on four continents, including Berlin, Tel Aviv, Singapore, Los Angeles, Quebec, Nagoya and the original Alas in Mexico City, the piece is one of the most photographed sculptures in Mexico City, and now around the world, mostly in the form of selfies.
The Tower of the Americas has a restaurant at the top of it. The outer floor rotates as customers dine giving you a 360 degree view of the city.

The framing, lighting, texture, tone and contrast of this image are spot-on! The black and white rendering give it a certain visual pathos that color could never have accomplished. Beautiful shot...nicely done!
