Description
My husband and I went on a hiking trail in the Lake Catherine State Park in Arkansas. We looked at the trail map at the beginning of the trail and our plan was to take a short trail that led to a waterfall where I could take some photos. We are not experienced hikers and unfortunately took the wrong turn somehow and ended up taking the long way around to get to the waterfall! The trail was a lot of up and down and sometimes very rocky requiring careful footing. We eventually made it to the location of the waterfall but unfortunately there was only a small trickle. We later learned that this area had not had much rainfall this year which resulted in no real waterfall! So we got some good exercise and a few photos along the way and made the best of it.
Lake Catherine State Park is a 2,180-acre public recreation area located on the south shore of Lake Catherine, eight miles southeast of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
