Description
Looks like Faith (the dog) and Hope (the cat) decided to pay a visit to the Luckenbach Post Office. Everyone should make a trip out to this wonderful place at least once in their lifetime. Luckenbach is a very small town located 13 miles from Fredericksburg, TX. Luckenbach is known for it's roots in country music.
The small statue on the podium here is "Hondo". John Russell "Hondo" Crouch was a writer, humorist, and owner-self proclaimed Mayor of Luckenbach, Texas. Luckenbach's population increased to a high of 492 in 1904, but by the 1960s it was almost a ghost town. A newspaper advertisement offering "town — pop. 3 — for sale" led actor Guich Koock and Hondo Crouch, a rancher and Texas folklorist, to buy Luckenbach for $30,000 in 1970, in partnership with Kathy Morgan.
