Big Bend National Park, Texas

This photo was taken near the western entrance to the park. The sign says it is "Bear and Mountain Lion Country" and you hear a lot of talk about bears and lions from various staff around the area, but we never saw either on our trip. We did see other wildlife such as javelina, rabbits, deer, and lots of roadrunners.

Big Bend National Park in the U.S. state of Texas has national significance as the largest protected area of Chihuahuan Desert topography and ecology in the United States.
