Description
Terlingua, Texas - ghost town
Terlingua is an old mining town where the discovery of cinnabar, from which the metal mercury is extracted, in the mid-1880s brought miners to the area, and created a city of 2,000 people at one time. According to the 2010 census, the population was 58. It is now mostly a tourist attraction due to it's close proximity to Big Bend National Park. This old rusted truck is permanently parked in front of what used to be the old jail but now serves as a public restroom.
